General Description
Welcome to AMARULA HOUSE, a name derived from a tree that grows uncultivated on the wide open plains of Africa. Situated in the Historic old Town and a block away from Queen Street, Amarula House is your perfect location for shopping, restaurants, theatre and wine tours. Cycle on the various picturesque biking trails or rollerblade along the Niagara Parkway or simply take in the various sites dating back to the War of 1812. A stroll down to the Lake is a must, view Toronto in the distance, America across the Lake or sit back and watch a spectacular Sunset.
Our quarter acre property was originally purchased from the crown in 1807 and Amarula House has been beautifully restored and decorated. Each room has a large ensuite bathroom and private entrance. A private swimming pool is available to all guests.
The Individual Rooms have been named after Animals that roam the open plains and the paint colours reflect the warmth and diversity of Africa.
The Buffalo Suite has the original beams dating back to 1807 and the gas fire place mantle is 200 years old and beautifully restored from the original School House in Niagara on the Lake. The Zebra Room boasts a Queen size Four Poster Bed that takes you back in time while the Leopard Suite's gas fire place and exposed beam has inviting and warm feel with ground floor access.
The Lounge and Dining Room hosts a number of African pottery or bead work and is enjoyed by many of our guests. Breakfast is sumptuous and is based on a Full English Breakfast.
Your Hosts will gladly book or reserve dinner, Wine Tours - please enquire about discounts, Spa treatments or threatre tickets. Golf packages are also on offer. Wine coupons and various discount vochers are available to all Guests.
Amarula House is a year-round facility. Our Off Season Rates apply from December through to April and special rates apply to group bookings.

Breakfast
At Amarula House we offer a full Breakfast that comprises of:
Fresh Fruit platter - all local produce is used
Selection of Cereals
Yoghurt - assorted
Delicious Baked Treats - Lemon/Poppy Bread, Strawberry Flan, Key Lime Pie, Fresh waffles and fresh fruit. There is so much more available!
Fruit Juice
Selection of Tea - normal, green or alternatives
Coffee - regular or decaf
Main Hot Dish consists of the Standard: Bacon, sausage, mushroom, etc
Eggs are a treat and vary daily
In the height of summer the tea/coffee fruit etc is available from 8:00am and by 9am the main dish is served.
Guests take their time over breakfast and enjoy the visual feast that is offered to them and enjoy wonderful conversation.
All diets are catered for. For Gluten and Lactose intolerant there is a delicious Carrot Cake or Chocolate Brownies.

AMARULA HOUSE is located at 79 Johnson Street between Victoria and Regent Streets. We are 1 Block away from the Royal George, 1.5 blocks away from the Court House Theatre and 2.5 blocks away fromt the Festival Theatre.
DIRECTIONS FROM TORONTO/HAMILTON/ST.CATHARINE'S:
*QEW Niagara Bound pass the Skyway Bridge over the Welland Canal
*Exit 38 Niagara-on-the-Lake / Niagara Stone Rd.
*Turn Left at the T Intersection onto York Rd.
*Turn Right at the 1st stop light onto Airport Rd. & go approx. 2 miles
*Turn Right at the T Intersection onto Niagara Stone Rd. or HWY#55
*Follow this road for approx. 12 miles (you will pass through the small town of Virgil on your way)
*Hwy#55 turns into Mississauga St.when entering Old Town
*Turn right at the T intersection onto Queen St. (visible - NOTL Golf & Country Club & Lake Ont.)
*Turn Right into VICTORIA Street (Bank of Montreal on the Left side of street)
*Turn Left into JOHNSON STREET
We are the 4th house on the left
FROM NIAGARA FALLS NEW YORK:
*When entering into Canada via the Queenston Bridge - take the first exit... an immediate right after the final toll gate on the Canadian side.
* Follow the Niagara Parkway past Queenston to Niagara-on-the-Lake Old Town (approx. 15 min)
*Note: the Niagara Parkway turns into Queens Parade just outside of Old Town then into Picton St.
*You will come to a stop sign at Wellington St., with the Festival Theatre on your left.
*Continue along Queen Street - past Clock Tower
*Turn Left into Regent Street (Angel Inn is on this street)
*Turn Right into JOHNSON STREET
We are the 3rd house on the right
